Well, it took me way much time to do it but my home computer is running linux again. I choosed Fedora since I am used to RedHat and it seems quite stable (I’ve hesitated with Gentoo in a first place).

So far so good, except the following:

  • The latest version is not bundled with a JDK5
  • Unable to setup pserver on fedora and it seems to be a known problem (grrr)
  • Broken jta.jar simlink in the tomcat install (probably for licensing issue)

All fixed, except the pserver issue. Too bad since I wanted to check if CVS was really much faster on linux. I checked using the ext (ssh) integration and, trust me, it definitely is (at least compared to CVSNT on a powerfull Win2k server box).

I am still searching for a good mp3 player *with* a media library a la winamp. If you know one, please let me know.
